Veteran half back Mosese Rauluni (also known as Moji) has backed fellow team mate Seremaia Bai to captain the Flying Fijians side during this year's Europe tour.

Flying Fijians head coach Glen Ella named Bai as the skipper yesterday. Rauluni and Nicky Little were other top contenders for the job.

Rauluni urges the nation to rally their support behind Bai as they prepare to battle rivals Scotland at 2.30am early Sunday morning.

He said the experience for the Clermont based player would make him better as Fiji builds up for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

“Seremaia is a very capable player. He started few years after me under former coach Greg Smith. This tour is all about development gaining experience. We are looking at the long run. Me and Kele (Kele Leawere) are not going to be there for ever,” Rauluni said.

Bai was a vital member for the Flying Fijians historic 2007 Rugby World Cup side which beat Wales to qualify for quarter finals.

On the other hand Ella released his line up to face Scotland last night when this edition went to press.

Veteran Rauluni says the side needs a good mindset in order to topple Scotland.

He said the players were ready for a major upset.

“We have had a good preparation. It is cold and rainy that is what we expected in Scotland. The young boys in the team are keen and willing to play their hearts out against Scotland,” he said.

“I think we need to work hard on our set pieces.

Keep the ball in hand, make fewer mistakes and have patience. In a test match we also need a good start,” Rauluni said.

Meanwhile further blow for Fiji as star full back Norman Ligari has been ruled out from the test against Scotland on Scotland.

FRU media liaison officer says Ligari will now join the team in Ireland where they play their second match
