TEAM Veivanua Three won the tsunami appeal Pacifika Golf tournament at the Fiji Golf Club yesterday.

Team captain Kevin Maitava led his team well which included the likes of Rod Hayward, S.P.Chung and Ravinesh.S to score 51.2 points.

Team BP Oil was second with 51.4 while team Tausa'afia which had the likes of Wylie Clarke, Albert Mariner, Clair Mariner and Alex Swann settled at third position at 52.4 points.

The tournament was blessed with a good fine weather at the Vatuwaqa golf course.

Tournament organizer and Fiji Golf club president Joe Tuivanuavou said the tournament was a great success.

A total of 200 golfers participated at the tsunami appeal tournament.

Tuinavuavou said they should exceed the $10,000 targeted money.

"This is a record breaking tournament. I'm very pleased with the number of turnouts and I have no doubts that we're going to exceed the targeted amount."

"I believe this people still have the passion for those affected by the tsunami and I'm pleased the response is like this after a few weeks from the first appeal."

Tuivanuavou thanked the sponsors ANZ, CFL, FDB, PRS, Kundan Singh & Sun Ltd, Carpenters and Fiji Times for their sponsors.

The money raised will be directly given to Tonga tomorrow while Samoa will receive their portion of donation later in the week
